Overview

PEase is a menstrual cycle tracking app designed to feel calm, modern, and approachable — without the typical floral themes. We set out to create a simple, intuitive tool that puts user experience first, focusing on clarity, privacy, and flexibility.

Background

When we reviewed popular period tracking apps on the market, we found they were often feature-rich but lacked intuitive interaction design and thoughtful visual language. Many relied on overly feminine tropes that didn’t resonate with the users we spoke to. We wanted PEase to feel like a tool women could trust — practical, grounded, and visually calm.

Mapping the Experience

We began by mapping out the key flows around recording and reviewing menstrual logs. From trying to conceive to tracking irregular periods, users had different goals — so we explored how to support these use cases with minimal friction. The information architecture was designed to reflect these real-life needs clearly.

Wireframe Exploration

Instead of hiding data behind layers of navigation, we wanted users to engage with their information directly. One early idea became a core feature: making the log dashboard the primary screen — turning past data into a visual and interactive centerpiece.

Visual Direction

We aimed for a clean, elevated look — inspired more by modern infographics than wellness branding. Diagrams and data visualizations led the interface, helping users absorb information at a glance while keeping the tone calm and refreshing.

Visual Panel Overview

A scrollable panel lets users view and interact with their full tracking history, making it easy to log new data or edit past entries without breaking flow.

Streamlined Calendar Display

All logged information syncs across both the calendar and log view, providing flexible access to insights over time.

Modes for Different Goals

Users can switch between modes — whether they’re trying to conceive, manage irregular cycles, or simply track their symptoms. A passcode option adds privacy for sensitive data.
